D#177 - The Short Cut
Two things about this story. It doesn't really start at the above strip but rather somewhere in the middle of the previous week (there's no definite dividing line between it and D#176). But keeping with the Deep Woods site index (the basis of my Dailies/Sundays list) which assumes that all Dailies start on Mondays, I'll upload it starting here. Maybe when all strips have been uploaded we can all come up to some agreement and reindex it correctly. Also, oddly enough, the Kingdom referred in this strip is first called Kadukah and then Alisandra, and the Kingdom's God starts as Kaaal before being renamed Baal.

Thanks a bunch for this strip.
ReplyDeleteHere is another strip which is available on the Net in Swedish, courtsy Magnus Magnusson. I had to get it from very different sources, as you can see when you go thru the strip.
This is S091 (The Trade Commission), another interesting story of alien invaders.

Enjoy.
That's odd!I guess 'The Short Cut' didn't exist in Falk's mind back then and he treated this as a mere continuation of D176.And I know there are few more of this kind!
ReplyDeleteAbout the 2 different names of same person/place/tribe etc in one story, that was common in Falk's strips, specially in the '80s and notoriously,in the '90s!!
Funny enough,Kaal & Baal - the 2 different names of that god - both are derived from one Indian language,Hindi with the meaning: Evil & Hair, respectively!!;o)
I actually think that this story started on Dec 03, 1981. I was able to get Dec 03 and Dec 04 but am missing Dec 05. Not available in NA or Google.
ReplyDeleteAn italian copy of the strip of Dec 05 1981, Next Week: More Danger!
